Founder of Tennis Time

David Greer’s passion for tennis began in Brussels, Belgium, where he trained in progressive tennis programs during the 1980s—long before the curriculum reached Canada. From 1984 to 1988, he trained under renowned coach Harry Greenan, later named Canadian Coach of the Year and a Tennis Canada Excellence Award winner

.

In 1988, David earned his first certification through the NCCP/CAC in Ontario and soon after accepted a Division I tennis scholarship at the University of West Alabama. While there, he launched the International Tennis Camps Academy in Brussels, which quickly expanded into a year-round program serving major schools, including St. John’s International, The Brussels American School (N.A.T.O.), and The International School of Brussels. As head coach at St. John’s, he guided the elite team to three consecutive I.S.S.T. championships.

After more than a decade of international coaching—including stints at the University of Maryland and the University of Chicago—David returned to Halifax in 2000. He coached at several Nova Scotia clubs, won the 2010 Nova Scotia Open Mixed Doubles title, and established new programs such as the first tennis school at the Canada Games Centre in 2011.

In 2016, he founded Tennis Time, blending decades of global experience with his passion for grassroots development. Today, as a certified member of the Tennis Professionals Association (TPA), David continues to grow the game throughout Halifax with Tennis Time and Kids Tennis Time, providing opportunities for players of all ages to learn, improve, and love the sport.
